Civil Ceremonies
Three arched windows, a coffered ceiling and a fully licensed ceremony room, for any season, any weather.
No timetable handed to you on arrival, or second wedding in the afternoon slot. Just the house, the lawn and the cedar, for you, for the day or for two.

There’s no template here. No conveyor belt. No other wedding waiting in the wings. For up to forty-eight hours the entire house and grounds belong to you and your guests, exclusively.
We’re family-run and it shows. From the first viewing to the last dance, you’re looked after by people who know your names, your plans and where on the lawn you’d like the chairs.
Licensed for civil ceremonies indoors and out, with a few country churches a mile or two away.

Three arched windows, a coffered ceiling and a fully licensed ceremony room, for any season, any weather.

Outdoor vows on the cedar lawn, beneath a tree planted in 1520. The orchard on one side, the Black Mountains on the horizon.

Prefer a religious service? Several country churches sit close by, Glewstone takes the rest of the day from there.
Three reception rooms flow into one another, ideal for a relaxed wedding breakfast, whether that’s a long banquet for eighty or intimate rounds for sixty.
Parquet floors, marble fireplaces, garden views. For larger celebrations, a marquee extends the festivities onto the lawn.

Never outsourced. Never marquee-cooked. Our kitchen, two AA Rosettes for what it’s worth, writes each menu around the season and the Herefordshire larder, tasted with you, tailored to your day.
From canapés on the lawn to a relaxed evening feast, every plate is prepared on site. The Courtyard Bar opens at dusk; the cellar keeps glasses charged into the night.
As evening falls, up to 130 join you for the celebration. The Courtyard Bar opens. The fires are lit. Dancing carries on late into the Herefordshire night.
No curfew. No early lights-up. Just the gentle promise of breakfast together the next morning.

The house sleeps twenty-four across ten individual bedrooms, from chandeliered suites to character rooms under the eaves.
Your closest people wake under the same roof, gather for breakfast and carry the celebration gently into a second day.
