Nº. 01 The House

A house that isn't
a wedding factory.

Sash windows, marble fireplaces and a mahogany staircase that creaks where it should. We've lived here, restored here, raised our children here and shared it with couples since 1990. What you get is a Grade II listed Georgian manor that still feels like the family home it is.

Outside, the formal lawns drop to an apple orchard and a walled courtyard framed perfectly with the Black Mountains on the horizon. The cedar on the south lawn was planted around 1520, which means it's older than the house!

finds its own rhythm.

Nº. 01 The Welcome
The entrance hall and mahogany staircase

Onto Victorian mosaic.

Guests step through the front door onto the original 1880s tiling, beneath a staircase that's been climbed by every Glewstone bride.

Nº. 02 The Vows
The ceremony room dressed with a floral arch and candlelight

Three windows. Or the cedar.

Marry inside, beneath a coffered ceiling and arched garden views, or outdoors on the cedar lawn if you would prefer. We're licensed for both, plus there are a few country churches a mile or two away.

Nº. 03 The Feast
Round reception tables set across the connected dining rooms at Glewstone Court

Three rooms to celebrate.

A long banquet for eighty, intimate rounds for sixty. The three reception rooms flow perfectly into one another.

Nº. 04 The Evening

The bar opens. The fires light.

Up to 130 join you for the evening. The Courtyard Bar opens, and the fires are lit. There's no curfew here, so you have the house until breakfast.

Nº. 03 Beneath the Cedar

Five hundred years
and it's still
putting on growth.

Stand on the south lawn and you can't miss it: a Cedar of Lebanon planted around 1520, when the house was a building site. Most of our couples who marry outside say their vows in its shade.

It's the same tree on our crest. You can't really separate them.

We looked at fourteen venues. None of the others felt run by people who actually liked weddings. Two years on, we still talk about it.

Nº. 04 From the Kitchen

Cooked here
by the same chef.

Every plate comes out of our kitchen. The chef who wrote your tasting menu cooks it on the night. It’s thoughtful and personal.

Two AA Rosettes, for what it's worth. But the more telling measure is that our couples keep coming back for anniversaries.
